Throughout Emerald Blaze, we see that whenever Catalina is in a crisis situation, she quickly understands the implications of what’s happening before her, she envisions how things might play out, assess how best to deal with it - usually by subtly getting people to do what she wants - and then she does it and it is usually really effective. Nevada, by contrast, is someone who does best when reacting or responding to a threat, much like Kate. She plans ahead so that when crisis happens, she’s prepared. Lastly, Ilona describes her as a crisis planner. If this isn’t INFJ, I don’t know what is. Not because she loves it - sometimes she doesn’t like it because of the horrors she has to face - but because she sees it as necessary and important. During the confrontation with her family about her job as the Deputy Warden, she says she doesn’t want to quit. Her cool and unfazed demeanor in Emerald Blaze came after she learned to feel more confident in using her powers, learned from Victoria how to see through others, and learned how to put on the Victoria Tremaine mask - aux-Fe. She is not someone who wings things and in fact, it causes her anxiety to do that. There have been many time-skips in her story so far. compared to Kate, who grows almost exponentially when put into high-pressure situations), and it took lots of time. Funnily enough, Victoria saw herself in Catalina and said they were both sensitive people whom the world cut deeply, and they had to learn to armor themselves. She was forced to hide her sensitive side and become the Head of House, which meant learning to put on the icy, critical, ‘Victoria Tremaine’s granddaughter’ persona.
She used to be introverted, idealistic, contemplative, shy and anxious. This might change when the third book comes out. So I just devoured the whole of Emerald Blaze and here’s my typings.
